Our Shepherds

Dana L. Salazar

Dana has had many hats; from owning her own framing and art gallery to running her own law firm to shepherding her own flock of sheep; it seems like she’s done it all. The spark for Dana to get sheep was when she went to the Dutchess County Sheep & Wool Festival for the first time and met some very friendly Gotland sheep. After years of saving and dreaming, Dana was finally able to start her flock with 5 of Quinto Melo Gotland’s sheep.

Dana loves shepherding her flock and enjoys the time that it brings her and her daughter together. Both are eagerly awaiting the arrival of their first batch of yarn.

Emma L. Salazar

Emma is Dana’s daughter and co-shepherd. She assists with shearing the sheep, managing the website, overseeing yarn processing, and supplying sheep-cuddles. Her favorite cuddle-buddy is Joy (as seen to the left). Emma loves to knit and can’t wait for their first ever batch of yarn to finish being processed.
